I was going to post (another?) Thread requesting recommendations on minisplits, after I read through one on refrigerators & freezers. Can't afford one atm but a guy can dream right?


I didn't know where to put it. It *could* be of interest to tiny-home, but also to vehicle or shed homes.

Can we carve out an area to discuss efficient appliances?

I don't think we want a set-in-stone list, because lots of variables come into play with each appliance decision. We like arguing with each other (at least some of us do. I'm the most agreeably correct person I care to know...).

There are so many different makes and models I'm not sure if would be of value.

I usually read comments from sites like Amazon, or get third party testing information such as the CCRC, Energy Star site, solar equipment list. For example, when I picked my roof coating, I used the CCRC site to figure out which had the best reflectance.

Sure, there are many different models but that's already true of batteries, sccs, etc, and that's not stopping us from discussing them...
