I am offered EVE 304Ah cells in local warehouse for the lower prices we are seeing these days. The issue is the cells are between 1 -2 years old (ie, manufactured up to 2 years ago).

If I want fresh cells I have to order from China - thats a huge logistical nightmare for me (long story but I cant import cells into the country I am - easily anyway - so would have to import to a 3rd country next door then go pick them up at the port). The cost is a wash - offered $80 per cell in local warehouse Vs $60 per cell ex china but then have to ship and import etc. So China cells are going to work out at about $70-$75 per cell landed plus a massive trip to a neighboring country (its far).

In short, its a whole lot easier to just go buy the local warehouse cells, but up to 2 years old concerns me - should I be ?

If its a local warehouse then take your multimeter and inspect, you want to see what V they are and the conditions they have been stored in. Also scan the QR code and check they are valid. Globel Power have been offering 2 year old cells for some time with no adverse posts on the forum.

yep - seems like the way forward - need to go there and check the cells. But in general the feeling is 2 y.o. cells are fine ?

Heck my cells are "new 2 years old" 🤪
(assuming they were in fact new when I got them 2 years ago)
