Auto/manual switch.

I have an inverter/charger that sends an signal to the auto start generator which is away from the house. Is it possible to instal a switch in that can manually start the generator from the house? e.g. a 'maunal/auto switch?

If you want to you could also, add the set of wires at the auto start point on the inverter. Just set a momentary switch, or a toggle, depending on the gen start design.

Hi, thanks for replying.
So I put a pair in with the auto start wires at the inverter...but do I have to then go through the switch and then to the genny...or just from the inverter to the switch? Better to ask than blow the inverter 😊

Some Inverters have an AGS Circuit which is designed to trigger a Generator Control Module which in turn starts the Generator.
Not all Generators are capable of being Auto-Started. They need an automatic choke, electric start and shutdown.
If you post what Inverter/Charger you have (Make, Model, link to product/manuals) that would be a Good Start to asking your question. Next what kind of Generator Make/Model and link to it if possible.

Below is the Atkinson Electronics Generator Control Start Module which is typical for an Auto-Gen-Start system.
If Atkinson does not support your generator, it is extremely unlikely anyone else's product would as well.
This is the Big List (PDF) to check and se IF your generator is on it or if it a specific module.
