Automotive circuit breakers VS din rail mounted

Is it better to use a din-rail type of circuit breaker (which I would say are designed for facility use) vs an Automotive Circuit breaker?

My use is in an off-grid solar system that requires a permit, in rural upstate New York.

If your system is going to be inspected, you need breakers in metal boxes, grounded. In my opinion, Midnite is the best 1 stop shopping for breakers and boxes. Check out their E-panels , mini dc boxes, or just their combiners or "Big Baby" box to hold a couple breakers.

Automotive stuff wont cut it, and some can be dangerous if you're not watching voltage ratings.

Thanks for your advice. I suspected the plastic boxes and automotive stuff wouldn’t cut it. Will check out Midnite Solar.

Anything that needs to be inspected will require UL stamped breakers and nobody makes a UL brealer for automotive. All you'll be able to find is going to be rail mounted in some way.

Low voltage dosnt have codes in NY. What county required a offgrid electrical inspection in NY?
