BACKFEED FAIL

Hi All - I have two EG4 XP6000 inverters tied together going to a 50A 4 wire cable backfeeding a 200A panel. When I connect to the panel with all breakers open, I get the 120+120 as expected. When I close one breaker and plug in a light, I get 80v + 160v through the panel. I 100% disconnected the grid breakers. Ground and neutral are bonded.

I checked the connections and had my electrical contractors doublecheck my work. They then disconnected the mains ground and neutral. Still no go.

The inverters work great otherwise - I have a 120v outlet next to the inverters to troubleshoot and it will power an electric wood splitter.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Sounds like the Neutral may not be making good contact with both inverters. Which is not necessarily an issue with your wiring job, it could be the neutral lug on one of the inverters.

I get 80v + 160v through the panel.

Measuring from what to what?
If hots to neutral, there's a problem with the neutral or inverters.
If hots to ground, then you are losing the N/G bond.

HI Folks - found the issue. I had used a two post neutral terminal that was not jumped underneath, so no neutral made it to the panel. Jumped the terminal and all works! Thanks for the support.
