Basen Green and EG4 18kpk communication

Hello there!

I have two EG4 18kpv Hybrid inverters and Three Basen Green 48v Lifepo4 DIY rack batteries that I'm trying to get up and running
To keep things simple to start, I'm only connecting 1 battery to 1 inverter, and I have the 2nd inverter turned off completely
And, I can't seem to get the EG4 18kPV to recognize the Basen Green battery

From what I can tell, the Basen Green battery uses CAN as a Pylon battery for communication.
I've got the DIPs on the battery set to be battery #1
When I enter this into the EG4 18kpv, it does not indicate a battery is present

The only way I'm getting the EG4 18KPV to see my battery is to set it as a lead acid battery

Before I start down any rabbet holes, I thought I'd check with y'all to see if anyone has been where I am now, and what they did to solve it

As always, your guidance it appreciated! Thanks!

As a side note, or more of a side request - If I can’t get these communicating and I’m forced to run in open loop, what are some good settings for me to use to start and stop charging?

Thanks again!

Just bumping this thread up a bit to see if anyone else out there is using the EG4 18kpv with the Basen Green DIY batteries?

Still can't figure out communication for closed loop...
I've been running in open loop, and the settings are not really in line with others that I've seen on the forum -
I'm AC Coupled with a 10.7kw Enphase IQ7 system wired to the generator terminals of the 18kpv - And I have a critical loads panel connected to the loads terminals of the inverters.

The battery specs that Basen Green emailed me are:
Charging voltage: 58.4V
Holding Voltage: 54.5V
Minimum cutoff voltage: 43.2V-45V
Equalizing voltage: 56.3V
Float Charge Voltage: 53.6V-54.5V

I'm a bit nervous to set my charge voltage to 58.4.. Should I be? I've been sneaking up on it... it's set to 57 now, but I don't think I've gotten that high yet...

I had my Discharge cut off on grid setting at 49 volts, but I wake up to a battery that's at 1% or 2% SOC - So now I have the setting at 51... The 18kpv stops using my battery around 52.. And that leaves me with roughly 25-30% SOC - I want to keep some back up in case there's a grid failure... The system works, but I don't get anywhere near the minimum cutoff voltage numbers of the battery...

Anyway, I thought I'd throw this out there to see your thoughts - thanks in advance!

I downloaded the "BR-LV Series Upper Computer Software" from

This software communicates with my EG4 LifePower4 batteries with no issues which might indicate that you need to select whatever would be correct for an EG4 LifePower4 using RS485
