Could you give a reason why you would not recommend? I am just curious of the cons of them.
A few highlights from my experience after purchasing a walrus last summer.
Once you buy it you’re basically on your own.
When searching youtube for any information 97% of the many many many videos are their own, telling you how great they are.
Further the fact that sales and tech support are the same 2 guys is very telling, and for most tech questions I’m told they will have to get with their engineers and call me back. I’ve also been encourage to email them…. I have been called back once and never had an email returned.
When my system wasn’t performing a portion was returned to CA for service and while it was returned working they offer no documentation of what service or repair was done.
The small active display on my unit only offers very limited real time data, that I’ve been told isn't accurate. With no history retained when there is a hiccup or event there is no record of it or of what was happening at that time.
They do have an app (that is next to impossible to connect to) but there is no documentation about it, what or where to find information or how to navigate through it. That’s from one time I happen to connect to it for a few days.
Did I mention there is no remote monitoring and no logging of information.
No information on the bms, mppt or inverter is available.
Lastly the less than generic bms, mppt, and inverter can’t receive software or firmware updates.
I will say their masterful use of caller ID to avoid my calls is exceptional.
I don’t think I've ever read of a positive customer experience.
