Battery Bank after charging

Hi all- I upgraded my panels a week ago. Now have 6x 400w panels with 6 hours of good sun per day. My battery bank reads 50v at the end of the day around 6pm and goes to 48.6v by 7am the next morning. I ran my smart battery charger from my 3.3kw generator for 2.5 hours to top up my batteries last night. Battery volts went up to 58.5 but when I disconnected the charger, the volts dropped to 50.8 after a few minutes. In the morning I had 48.9v so a lot of fuel was wasted imho. Any ideas?

Going to need more information for anyone to be able to help. Inverter type, charger type, battery type and size. Otherwise we have to call Dionne Warwick's Psychic Network and at $10.99 a minute it adds up. ?

Haha love it! MUST 5kva- all in one with built in 80amp charger. AGM batteries 12v x 4 270ah each for a 48v system. Attaching the user manual

Thank you. I can upload photos later today. Yes it did work but have changed inverters so I think it's probably a setting?

Some inverters will have a shut down based on high battery voltage. Need to find the setting and make sure it exceeds the charger voltage.

What is the battery voltage when things shut down? Does the charger have an AGM or GEL setting to avoid equalization?

Hi all- got it sorted. Changed the CSO setting to SNU which says I can charge from a utility and solar at the same time. Thanks to all who responded
