Hi,

I want to build a 24v battery bank for my trolling motor. I can't seem to make the right decision. I would need your advice!

I have already ordered 8 lifepo4 161ah cells (on the way). As I have already made lifepo4 packs, I have at my disposal:
- 2 BMS Daly 4s 80A
- 1 charger 12v
- 2 active balancers 4s

If my motor works on 24v other devices need 12v to work. I therefore thought, in the same box, to mount 2 x 4s with an output specific to each pack then put in series at the output. With therefore the possibility of using 12v and 24v.

Is my thinking correct where it is better to mount an 8s pack directly?

Can taking more energy from a pack (by plugging in a 12v device) be a problem?

Thank you

I'm sorry, English is not my native language, I use a translator.

I would think an 8s pack with one 8s bms. Then use a 24v to 12v converter. For your 12volt side. Or if you have room put in a 12v battery for the 12v stuff and not take the power away from your motor battery.

Limited build experience, but I do have good marine use experience. I have a 36v trolling motor and run 3) 12V batteries. I would suggest you base the battery setup on what your charger will be producing. If you have a typical marine multi bank charger and not a 24v charger then I would build 2 batteries.
