Battery Cable Layout/Design ~ Seems like a Lot of Connections

Does the inverter not have a remote power switch already?
For service turn it off and remove a cable, skip the switch.

Use the shunt as the negative bus and stud.

It does but not a breaker for dc only an on off switch.

Are you suggesting skipping the switch all together?

Yes, skip the switch. I imagine the switch may not get flipped for a decade once it is set to run. In the mean time it just provides a fail point.

My RV inverter has no DC switch and I have not missed it in 15 years. My home solar string inverter has an integrated switch but has not been touched since turning on more than 8 years ago.

@MrM1 might want a precharge circuit to protect those BMSs.
