Battery Charger Connection

Hi,

I have a 24V Li-ion Battery Box connected directly to a 2000W 24V pure sine wave inverter. I want to charge the battery manually with a 24v Victron charger. Can I connect the charger directly to the same terminals on the inverter and turn the inverter off when charging the battery?

Is that a dumb idea?

Probably.

You used the term "Li-ion," so that creates a lot of uncertainty. Li-ion refers to all types of Lithium chemistry. Charging non-LFP can be a lot more tricky.

I asked almost the same question. You should be okay as long as the inverter is switched off.
