Battery Lithium Manufacturers sues YouTuber who tested batteries for 3 years with Defamation

being kind is being...woke?
The chit chat zone was made for politics and generally a place for non-solar stuff to be discussed. Not censorship. Just trying to follow the rules.
Have a great day everyone.

THIS THREAD IS IN THE CHIT CHAT ZONE!

Your comment implies that you don't want to hear about an opinion that doesn't fit in your tight liberally biased Cali hat. That is a 'YOU' problem. I say what I want, when I want. Deal with it.

Like your right to own arms? Get back to me when you end up with a one party system and no way out.
NO thats a privilege up here.
A property right.

Kind of like driving a car.
Too many people drive cars that should stick to guns...

Never wrestle with a pig… because you both get dirty, but the pig likes it.
I’m out.

In defence of Dave, when was it moved to chitchat? If you follow the thread, you might not notice the move, especially when you are interested in the outcome and are bombarded with other nonsense...

Come on guys, try to be kind.

Never assume you can put lipstick on a pig and make it pretty...
Sometimes pig wresting can still be fun....
called the NFL

the original footballs were supposed to be a pig bladder.... ever play USA football. It is not soccer. Lot of sports are mock war games. Probably why Europeans fight over soccer games more than Americans fight over sports here. I think players should be given swords and knives.

One of the great rivalries of Canadian style football ( not all that different that American football a more offensive game Vs a more defensive American style of play )
The Roughriders VS the Rough Riders 1951 this battle would play over and over for Lord Grey's cup decade after decade lol...

Soccer is the beautiful game of grace and speed.
Football is more like civilized war.
Hockey is the ultimate expression of speed and violence with the aim to score point.

As an American, I used to universally be against the two party system and thought it was stupid.

As an adult, I now realize the European-style multi-party systems are absolute and utter dogshit.

You will never receive change, because if one party actually wins the most % of the vote, and they want to alter the status quo, the other parties will go to insane lengths to do whatever possible to lock out the winner from forming a government.
um your a little confused there, you don't have a two party system in the US. you are pretty much the same as Canada as you also have Green Party, Libertarians, Constitution Party and Natural Law Party.. the difference is the results are pretty much split between two parties, and in Canada there are two main parties and a third that ebbs and flows over the years, but we are basically going to have a conservative or a Liberal government like you guys. The democrats and the repubs. the only difference in elections is we don't elect a president separately, the leader for the party that wins in Canada becomes the Priminister. I think what you are thinking of is a representation by popular vote. so each party will get the same percentage of seats as the percentage of popular vote they won

Well its still first past the pole
You can form a gov in Canada with 40%of the popular vote just because of vote splitting in a riding.

I am speaking as a practical manner, of course there is nothing limiting other parties from participating in an election in the US, of course the Libertarians always capture a small (but not necessarily meaningless) portion of the vote. We can talk about all the minutiae of third parties taking enough votes to swing an election to the opposition, but this does not result in seats for that party or them having any direct influence over the government that wins.

The most we have, at best, is like a single "Independent" (Bernie Sanders) that caucuses with the Democrats and virtually always votes directly along party lines. So basically, zero representation at the federal level.

I think this falls down to splitting hairs at this point.

ya its pretty much the same in Canada, the majority is won by two parties and then there is usually a small third that can balance power in a minority government, and then a sprinkling of seats from minors. the main difference is we don't vote in the leader at election time, so that really confuses me and I am trying to learn the reasoning behind having a separate vote for a president, when you also have party votes. so you can have the winning party a different political opinion of the president where with ours the winning party leader becomes the Prime minister

Seats in this sitting of Parliament.

One more quirk
We call our version of the house of Lords the Senate.
Like a lord its for life but the senate is filled with people and politicians of consequence to act a house of sober second thought.
These guys review laws and sometimes send them back to tuning if its bad law, but hey cant block it from passing.
They also run committees and listen to and review matters of interest with the public and bring this back to the house of commons as part of the that fine tuning of legislation they do.

In some cases the government can pull an old "expert" out of the senate and give him a cabinet post as a minister. ( us him as defacto UN-elected MP with a cabinet posting so he can speak in question period )
I cant think of when or where this has happened but it can be done..
