Good Afternoon all,
I am in the process of making a 24 volt battery bank. What would be the best way to combine (6) 100 ah 12 volt batteries to get 24 volts to feed my inverter

What "batteries" are these?
Some can be combined in series / parallel ..... and some cannot.
 
rednecktek has 8 batteries shown in his diagram, but Ri_not only has 6 batteries listed in his post.
most 100ah batteries are LiFePo4. most lead acid are not 100ah. i know nothing about AGM or others.
 
3P2S isn't so much the best, it's the only way I see to wire them up to get 24v.
Yes that would be less serial connections to manage. It is different than the graphic posted above but also preferred from my point of view. It is how I have wired my 48 volt pack of 48 LFP cells. 3P16S
The practical issue is any limitation on paralleling those 12 volt batteries if they are Lithium because of the limit of the manufacturer.
