Battery wiring question

Can some one post correct pic of the correct wiring for 6 -12 volt batteries wired for 24 volts. I thought mine was correct but woke up this morning to 2 batteries dead killing the inverter. The other 4 batteries are still at 13 + volts. The bms shut off the two dead batteries at a little over 10 volts.

In my signature block there is link on how to parallel batteries. If they are paralleled to method 1, that could be a contributing factor.

The battery closest to the load will provide way more than the far ones. If wired this way and the close battery died, points to this.


I prefer method 2

Space available this will be better, but no math is with it:

The picture I show is 1S4P, but your installation should be 2S3P

Apologies to GLC for the slight highjack of the thread, but huge thanks to @chrisski for this informative page! I'm just curious if the positive and negative cables need to match in length between terminals and the busbar.

Yes. All wires equal length to the buss bars this way everything charges/drains equally. I just got done paralleling 4, 12V batteries just like this.

I know the pos/neg cables in between terminals should be the same size. But does the positive from the battery to the busbar need to be the same as the pos/neg terminal cables? Thanks!

No.

In my case I have 2’ to the positive and 4’ to the negative.
