Bent Post

Putting some strings together and found a cell with a bent post.
Wasn't gonna use it and I had ordered another cell for a just in case purpose. Gonna switch em out and saw it also had a Bent post.

It is the negative post and I put it on the very end where the bms hooks up to it. Figured it would be the easiest to change out if it didn't work out for me.
On both posts you can see a gap where it is not flat on the battery only one side is making decent contact.

What from? Heat from the bad connection?

@ghostwriter66 have you come across cells that looked like this? What did you do if you have come across cells like these I have?

I wish it was easy to ask the seller to make a claim with the shipper. Did the packaging show signs of stress?

Well the packaging was poor with the posts sticking out of the boxes on all of em but none of the boxes were all torn up. I have 2 cells like this that I've seen so far.
Thought about having it welded down the edges with aluminum wire or something

Fedex lost a box containing 3 cells I didn't get reimbursed but instead had to buy another cell and pay for shipping via airfreight was around $550.
So the best thing for me to do would be to buy cells out of Houston than be "reimbursed "

Like like the welded stud broke off the terminal pad.

I assume package was not so much lost but so badly damaged and full of hazmat it had to be cleaned up and disposed.
We know it is already a bit questionable if proper hazmat disclosures are given to the shippers.

Assembled 2 strings and found so far 2 bent posts that has a gap under them that you can see through and this one with the corner damage.




Got to fab the bms platform next like the one above.
Will have 1680AH of lifepo4 or 86,016 watt hrs of usable power in this bank.
