Hi Folks

I’ve got 4x 330w Trina solar panels on my roof and i’m currently deciding what charge controller or controllers that will run them with my 24v system.

I already have a Victron 100/30 smart solar (although not installed) and i’m thinking of either getting another 100/30 and running 2 panels per controller or buying a 100/50 and running 2S2P with the front panels obviously together

As you can see in the photo of my roof the 2 panels at the front will experience some shading depending on the angle of the sun, where’s the panels at the back have no obstructions whatsoever

What do you thinks best efficiency and performance wise? costs will end up being fairly similar, more wiring with the 2 controllers but possibly better performance…

Cheers
Riley

Nothing against Victron - just to share an alternative if its useful for you.

I have 4 x 300w panels in 2s2p on my camper and I use the MPP Solar 3048LV (48v/3000w) 'all-in-one' unit and its fantastic for me, low noise etc.

You could probably rewire for 48v (for higher wattage output units) but if you need to stick to 24v... MPP Solar has 24v units - the LV2424 is popular (24v/2400w) - https://www.ebay.com/itm/274725361463?epid=3033529052&hash=item3ff6e85737:g:ptoAAOSwzzVbKHBu You can do 2 of them for 4800w.
