I have 3 strings of 5 panels. Can I combine 2 strings of 5 panels each together in parallel to one input and send the other 5 panels to the other input? Longi panels 535W VoC 49.35, ISC 13.78. SPH6000 TL inverter has max DC V of 550, Start V of 150 and Nominal 370. Max input current 13, max short circuit current 15. What is the best solution? I have the 3 strings mounted.

Thankyou for that answer. One of my panels is actually damaged so I will make two strings of 7 and exclude the 15th panel. I have some other newb questions.
1. If I use grounding plates sandwiched between each panel and the rail - is an actual ground wire required between each panel?
2. Is a bare #6 copper OK from the array rails back to a ground rod near the inverter?
3. Is it OK if that bare #6 ground is routed zip tied on the outside of the metal conduit I put my PV wires through?
4. If the Grid power to the Inverter is already supplied from a breaker in my sub panel - do I still need a breaker on the EPS output from the ATS to my pump contactor?

1. Probably fine. Many racking systems have a means of biting through the panel's anodize for good contact, and then running a single ground wire to the racking system.
2. Probably, but you'd need to check the code.
3. I don't know.
4. Every circuit needs over-current protection. If that breaker adequately protects the wires on the other side of the ATS, then it's probably fine.

@timselectric can answer these better than I can.
