I have this samll power generator from poweroak here in the UK, Bluetti in the US....

Now looking at the solar specs it states dc14-40v for solar charging. Does that mean upto 40v open circuit voltage, cause the manual says 120w panel and im confused a little bit at what size panel i could actually use

Thanks in advance guys

As I understand it, Voc (voltage, open circuit) is the spec to go by when sizing your PV panels. If you will be using PV charging in cooler weather you should know the voltage of the panels may increase above Voc in sunny conditions, so stay maybe 20% below your max voltage input. Or do the math using your panel's temp coefficient and get a more exact number. With regard to wattage, some amount of overpaneling can be desirable. Search for that term here and you'll find many discussions of the topic.

Ive currently got a 120w panel on the arbor roof feeding the poweroak……which is 21.7 voc. so i will stick with that for now. As im hoping to have residential solar fitted this winter anyway.
