So what BMS are people using with the generation 1 Nissan Leaf batteries? Just ordered them a week ago and have been having trouble figuring what BMS to use. Planning to use them in a 3s16p (Technically a 6s) configuration for 24v and only really want the BMS to balance the pack. Mostly looking for a cheap and effective solution for now.

I just finished a 12p 14s gen 1 pack. All cells have been spot on being 12 connected parallel. I have a 24s 2amp active BMS ready to hook up. It will handle 4 leaf modules per connection. Not ideal as one of the 8 cells in the 4 modules could go bad and not see it right away. Spendy to cover each cell on its own!

I use an 8S 24v configuration because the 3S will leave you on the very low end of 24v operational voltage range and will be a problem with most inverters and other components.

The bms I am using is the REC Q BMS and it is working exceptionally well. They offer bluetooth, wifi software, pc software, pre-charge unit and contactor.

Highly recommend.
