BMS wiring question

So I see on the JK Bluetooth main screen the wire resistance list. If I cut the sense wires to minimum length before crimping the terminals I would end up with a cleaner look and easier to manage bunch of wires. I have never cut the sense wires for concern the resistance difference would be detrimental to keeping the pack properly balanced. My question is, how much, if any, problem is it to cut these wires short?

BTW I have added to the length of the few wires that really are too short just so I can get the BMS comfortably off to the side of the pack.

There was a big debate about this on the forum about 2 years ago. Everyone said don't cut them. I was never convinced.

The BMS uses the wires for 2 purposes.
1) measuring voltage
2) moving balance current.

When measuring the voltage, there is almost no current, so there is almost no voltage drop (resistance is not critical)
When moving balance current out of or into a cell, resistance is not critical.

furthermore there are a LOT of examples of people that cut the wires with no apparent issue. (The commercially built batteries all have each wire cut to the perfect length).

Bottom line: I think it is OK to cut the wires to length.
