I have 12 of the:

Boviet 450W Bifacial Solar Panel (Silver) | Up to 540W with Bifacial Gain | BVM6612M-450S-H-HC-BF-DG

from signaturesolar link here

My hybrid inverter is an EG4 18k. They are wired in series and coming in on mppt input 1. On 2 sunny mornings that I have had I have got an over voltage alert and the inverter flips to GRID to cut off input of course to protect the overvoltage issue. (Also to note I have 3 EG4 powerpro batteries on the inverter for storage)

What is confusing about this is according to the spec of the panel I see this:

Maximum Power Current (Imp) 11.06A
Maximum Power Voltage (Vmp) 40.76V
Short Circuit Current (Isc) 11.60A
Open Circuit Voltage (Voc) 49.05V
Module Efficiency 20.2%
Power Tolerance 0~+5W 0~+5W 0~+5W

That should be 588.6 Volts Open ( No Load ) and 489.12 Volts ( Load ) Correct?

The EG4 18k on any MPPT input can handle 600 Volts. I was getting around 614 Volts peak from the panels in series on those two mornings.

Does that make any sense or do these panels actually output more than advertised? If so great but now I need to take one panel off or is there a better way?

You need to remove one panel or reconfigure strings to run in parallel. It needs to be done as soon as possible before colder weather comes this next week. VOC over the max rating will kill an MPPT.

The operating range of the 18Kpv is 500V max. I would use 6S strings and parallel those on the MPPT 1.

Thank you! Duh your right! I totally missed that on the spec sheet:

MPPT OPERATING VOLTAGE RANGE 140-500 VDC

I had read this and assumed:

DC INPUT VOLTAGE RANGE 100-600 VDC

We all know what that does....:fp
