Im based in The Netherlands and preparing to build a battery energy storage system with two purposes in mind, 1) use of the during the day generated solar energy in the evening and 2) to return (to sell) cheaper bought energy back to the grid for a higher price. For option 2 the dutch tax agency can see you as a business as you are trading in energy. When you are recognised as a business you can get back the BTW (VAT) paid on the equipment.
Important condition is that you use the equipment purchased for business purposes. The installation will be installed at my private house. How can you easily and maybe fully automated which percentage of the system is being used business wise and used privately.
I'm planning to use the Victron systems and software for the trading. Can this system generate overview of how much energy was bought/sold for trading purposes?
Because only the percentage used for business is what is returned on the BTW (VAT) paid.
It all all sound like a complex admin task which is maybe not worth the effort compared to money you can get back. Any comments?
