Nice square layout for a gardenThis was my panel setup before I got my tractor out of the shop to put them on the roof.
Wife will remind me of my decision until the grass grows back.

Would you post a link to those 450’s you found?
I have 4 old panels and now a spare CC as well and I was thinking about doing this along my back fence. It's wooden and behind a tree with tons of shade in the summer but later in the afternoon there is some sun, and in winter it gets some direct sun with all the leaves being gone from the tree. Probably not ideal but it might add some extra power anyways.Just saw this article posted:

Using existing fences as near-zero-cost racking solution for PV deployment
American researchers are proposing to use steel zip ties to attach solar modules to fences in animal farms as a low-cost racking solution for agrivoltaic applications. They found the proposed approach is technically and economically viable, provided careful wind load tests are conducted on the...www.pv-magazine.com
Would be fun to see how many sun hours I could collect in a day during summer versus winter.
I suppose it's good if you have piles of used panels and lots of fences. But I would still prefer laying them flat on the ground with a steel tether.
I am tempted to just use some sacks of sand.Hard to believe the wind will get at those. I’d be tempted to leave empty. Or throw some water jugs in there.
Since these are protected from wind by the house, you might be able to do that!I am tempted to just use some sacks of sand.
I'm in PA and I looked into getting these. Unfortunately, the shipping was 3 times the cost of the item ?. I contacted the company and there are no local warehouses either...
This is the newest budget-friendly racking solution I just installed on my house.

Your right. I should have clarified... I was only looking to get 3 of these for a couple of panelsHow much?
One unit, I could see that. Stack of 20 or 40 on a pallet, ought to be a few hundred shipping.
I saw quotes ranging from $8000 down to $400 for one 1300# pallet coming out of Canada.
Sounds like a mosquito pondSince these are protected from wind by the house, you might be able to do that!
Connect them one to the next with bulkhead fittings, fill them with water, small pump from first one to the last one, and set up you very first Solar Shaded Tank Aquaculture Fish Pond...ok the tanks are too small, but IBC 's with these attched on top could work...and the water is the ballast.
These wouldn't work for my setup but I really like the concept. I'm thinking they would be perfect for a couple of future projects. Now if they could get that sugar battery thing figured out we could put the sugar in the tubs then... nah, nevermind.Yeah, the are big so they have to ship by freight. Across the board, it costs about the same to send 1 on a pallet as 20...this is why if they are ordered with panels and we offer free shipping on the mount, because we can stack them on top of the wooden crate the panels are in
