With the name of the ship you can track it on Marine Traffic.View attachment 261838
This is a fun process ... like each step in a hurdle in the race.. even if its not about the speed it is about finishing ...

I have never really used it before. I only knew about it because I watch Sal Mercogliano on YouTube. I think you can track any ship with AIS turned on in real time. Maybe @Rednecktek can enlighten us about it?oh thats cool.. do you have to pay for subscription to see routing of future?
yeah look like it updates every few mins.. pretty cool .. ThanksI have never really used it before. I only knew about it because I watch Sal Mercogliano on YouTube. I think you can track any ship with AIS turned on in real time. Maybe @Rednecktek can enlighten us about it?
Now, for the next several weeks, you will be constantly checking to see how far your ship moved as it does 10kts across the Pacific. Sorryyeah look like it updates every few mins.. pretty cool .. Thanks
You say that and I think of top balance a ship, not only do they want it at 100% but they have to worry about each block of watts not fitting all in the same size container (or is it more/and/less watts fits in the same size) .. LOL .. That is a crazy balancing act .. would be fun software to write though ..Sort of like Top Balancing at 5 amps![]()

Most AIS tracking is based off land based receivers, so soon as it loses the last signal it doesn’t move until it hits the first site on the west coast. Now, for the next several weeks, you will be constantly checking to see how far your ship moved as it does 10kts across the Pacific. Sorry![]()
We call that either "Delayed Again in Busan" or "Need the STCW Hours" donuts. It happens pretty often. To bad there is no way to make the ship circle in the middle of the ocean a few times, just for effect![]()
Yup, there are the paid subscriptions that will track all the way across the ocean, but it depends on the carrier and what systems are installed on the bridge. The free versions just track when they're close to land and will usually give you an ETA to the next port. Most AIS tracking is based off land based receivers, so soon as it loses the last signal it doesn’t move until it hits the first site on the west coast.
Enjoy life. It will be here when it it gets here.
A lot of peeps like to top balance, and some like Steve s. say it has to be done to get the cells to perform at their peak, but I'll let the bms with its 2 amp active balancing do the chore. Why are you bothering your time top balancing?
