I use flat stock aluminum from the hardware store just cut it and drill it.
Some here disapprove. But it works for me and easier than pounding copper pipe flat.

I'm in the US and am using 1" x 1/8" (3.2mm, I think) C110 copper flat bar that I purchased on ebay (also sold on Amazon by the same seller, I believe). That bar is about 1 USD per inch. You can add heat shrink tubing to the middle if you'd like.
