Hi im looking to do build a off grid system for my bro inlaw and we are trying to keep the cost down as much as possible and batterys are moat likely the biggest out lay in totally off grid system, id like to use lifepo4 but for the amount of amp hours needed its just out of his budget, i have come across a guy that is selling 48v 700ah lead acid batterys that have come out of genarator that was in a hospital, he says they gen goes bad then he buys the hole thing and takes the battery out, he thinks they will last forever as long as there is water in them, i asked what date was on them and he said they are normally 2012, he sells them for £1400 GBP are these worth getting or a waste of money?

Any Help is very much welcome.

I don't know if these are worth the money or not, but if you buy it, make sure you lift with your legs.

NO a lead acid from 2012 they are running out of life on them. You do better to get used Lithium they will last an extremely long time.
