Can I connect a 24 volt and 12 volt battery to a 24 volt Hybrid Inverter?

If I have a Hybrid Solar Inverter 2400 watt 24volt system, how could I connect a 24 volt battery and a 12 volt battery at the same time? Would I have to have two 12 volt batteries and connect them in series and then have the two 12 volts and the 24 volt connected in parallel?

In theory you'd need to series connect two 12 v and then parallel connect that with the 24v battery.
