Can i turn off solar sell on DEYE 12kw on grid inverter without meter ?

Hey guys i allready have deye 12kw hybrid inverter and i dont use meter and i am able to turn off selling solar , but now i am installing solar for my friend and he wants t to get this model : Deye Sun 12KW 3-Phase String Solar Inverter Sun 12K-G06 . i was reading manual and it says that solar sell cannot be turned off without putting meter . is that true ?

When you say meter, do you mean an energy meter or a current transformer (CT)? An energy meter is not required. My system with a Deye 10k single phase inverter doesn’t have an external energy meter. Export can be turned off if you have a CT OR if you have a battery. If you have neither then there’s no way to limit export.

Can you point to where it says in the manual that you need a meter?

Without an external meter, the inverter lacks the necessary information to control energy export effectively. Therefore, to disable solar export with the Deye Sun 12K-G06 model, installing a compatible energy meter is essential.

Not true. The Deye inverter with an external CT is perfectly capable of managing export. An external meter will be more accurate, but it’s absolutely not required. My system is living proof.
