I have 2 strings of 1000 watts (five 200w panels/string) going to two 80 amp Aimes controllers. From there it goes to 6 sealed lead acid batteries (walmart) and then Aims 3000 watt pure sine inverter with an automatic transfer switch. For 13 months everything worked great, now the batteries are not holding a charge anymore, so I'm considering LiFePO4s (as the old ones only lasted a year past the warranty) and I've seen some good sales on ebay (around 140/100Ah battery). Yesterday when I measured the batteries without load and charge and disconnected the inverter, I couldn't turn it back on after reconnecting everything. This has happened 3x now, once fixed under warranty but with 80+$ for shipping. So I'm suddenly in the market for batteries and an inverter, which is a lot at once. I'm off-grid and all my power needs come from solar. I found the Jupiter new on ebay for $230 with a 3 year warranty added for only $32. Their customer service told me it could be used with any battery, but when I looked through the manual online (https://manuals.harborfreight.com/manuals/57000-57999/57274-792363572743.pdf), it says it should be used with deep-cycle lead-acid batteries, can be used with Gel or AGM. From what I've been researching on this forum, it may just be a matter of needing a separate low voltage shut off? The batteries I'm considering are from Eco-worthy and do have a BMS that protects from overcharging, deep discharge, overload, overheating and short circuit, and low self-discharge rate. I need to keep cost as low as I can, I'd much appreciate any advice or suggestions you care to share.
