Can SA read info from Flexboss, Gridboss as well as from RUiXU Lithi2-16 wall mount batteries?

Hi,
Forgive me if this has been asked before. I have FlexBoss 21 with a GridBoss along with 2 RUiXU Lithi2-16 batteries.
I currently am using only the EG4 monitoring center. But the Wi-Fi dongle every few days has a "hiccup and goes off line for a few hours before it reconnects (or if I'm home go out and hit the reset button on it).

Looking to see if SA would give more data on the batteries. Currently they are connected to the FlexBoss using SOC for the management of charging. I am fine with that and being very new I am hesitant to switch to managing the charging by voltage.

I am looking to add 2 more batteries to max out the connection provisions of the busbars I am using. The problem is the only good place to place the 2nd pair of batteries is directly in front or the 1st pair. That would block the screens on the current pair. That is why I am looking at SA is to be able to view the battery state of charge, The cell temperature as well as the high and low voltages of the cells. Currently I have to use the battery screens for that info and the EG4 monitoring center only reports the state of charge and the total voltage across both batteries.

Would Solar Assistant work to provide me that info?
Thanks!!!
Dave

I have the exact same setup and I’m using esphome and home assistant to get the detailed battery information.

Thanks!!!
Just a couple of quick questions as I'm not positive of the notations on your photo.
1) the ESP32 + RS485 RUiXU battery monitor to HASS - is this between the master battery and the inverter. Or is it plugged into the empty port of the slave battery? Also what does HASS stand for is it Home Assistant?

2). RS485 to TCP RTU can you let me know what brand/model you used? Looks like it's a modbus to ethernet converter but I have no experience with them so not sure what to look for.

In a nutshell if I understand correctly it uses Solar assistant to get the data from the inverter then uses Home Assistant to display the info.
Is that correct? I'm fine with getting Home assistant but since I live alone I don't really need to automate anything. The only things I do any load shedding with is the EV charger and a 240V space heater that is used as a wintertime dump load. Summertime the inverter just throttles back the production that's more than I use and/or sell back as my export is limited by my transformer to 10kVa. It's not worth paying for the upgrade given the utility is only paying $0.046 a kWh for energy exported to them.

Thanks!!
Dave

The ESP32 is using this project https://github.com/easybotics/esphome-ruixu-bms to tap into the Master's battery RS485 to read detailed cell data and into home assistant. The CAN lines from the Ruixu battery continue to be connected to the FB21 for battery comms.

Yeah, I use a waveshare RS485 to TCP RTU but it currently has no use for the FB21 inverter right now. I'm testing out a few things and I know I can read the same modbus values as the dongle but locally. Solar assistant doesn't understand TCP and wants USB to RS485 to be connected directly to the PI. I've been working with this author and while the integration pulls all the data fine via the Dongle, he said he could work on the direct TCP to RS485 polling method but no ETA for that. https://github.com/ant0nkr/luxpower-ha-integration

Solar assistant is its own thing. I just paid a bit of money to see what it is all about and it does have its place, just not detailed information and automation. For any automation, I have not played with SA's automation but home assistant you can do anything you'd like.

I used to have this problem using Ubiquiti WiFi AP's. I had to create a separate, dedicated 2.4Ghz only SSID that also had a flag set to improve IoT compatibility.

I'll have to try that as I use Ubiquiti AP's the inverter is in the barn and the GridBoss is in the basement so using 2 different AP's....
