Can you use a 16S Battery Active Balancer on a 15S battery

I have a battery pack that i think its on the end of its life, it is a 15S pack, and the battery voltage on some of the battery are all over the place. So i was thinking of adding a balancer to help gain a bit of its capacity back.

i should be getting the 15S balancer for this pack, But knowing that the battery pack might be decommissioned soon, i was thinking of buying a 16S balancer so i can use it with my newer packs.

Is it okay to use a 16S Active Balancer on a 15S system?

If it's simple bled resistor one, for sure.
If it's a fancy pull here, put there one maybe

I would just replace the bms with a jk.
Jk works fine with 15s

Totally depends on the balancer itself

What might work... So I have a 7S through 21S BMS

Basically the sense leads / balance leads get strapped all to one cell.. But I'm not sure if that's how it would work on something more simple like a balancer

i forgot to post what balancer i was thinking of using is this from DALY. Hope you familiar with how it works

On the note, a few of my cell now drops voltage faster than the others, so i was thinking of getting a high current Balancer, but 5A is the highest i can get, would it be possible to parrallel 2 blancers for increased current?

You can use a EnerKey 16S on a 4S battery. Programmable in the Bluetooth app

Hard no on that. They would fight each other

but im not happy because when this pack is decommissioned, i will have a 15S balancer that wont be used again since i have 16s packs..

Anyway i became desperate and contacted DALY themselves to ask this question, hopefully they reply soon, if not im stuck with the 15S

You might be confusing 15s and 15ah.
I'm thinking you will have a very hard time finding a specific 15s balancer

We've not seen many lithium batteries make it to end of life (5k cycles, 20? years, ...)

The packs are not with me now since i transfered it to my grandparents home as i got newer packs, so i wont be able to show you pictures immediately. but i can atleast describe it: for example cell 3,7,12 are at 2.4V while the rest of the cell are still at 3.2V: since those cell gets drained faster than the rest the undervoltage protection of the BMS kicks in earlier than what it usually is.

Oh by end of its life i mean in the 5-7 years range, the packs are just some no name, its clear that there are cells that are now gone bad, i can replace them, but i dont think it would be worth its cost since the rest would kick the bucket sooner or later.

i am not , i do not have 15Ah packs, my smallest battery pack is a 100Ah 15S2P (50Ah per cell) config.

what do you mean by specific 15S balancer? searching in our local 'Amazon' equivalent yeilds many result of 15S balancer, DALY just seem to be the most brand name i could get.
