Couldn’t find much of anything online about this brand. Amazing deal for a plug and play battery though at $2700 Canadian for 15kw and they have a few warehouses across the country for pickup. Wondering if anyone knows anything about this brand / battery - anything at all really haha. Had been looking at an EG-4 battery which already seemed like a good deal, but this is about half the price. I’ve sent them a message through their website to ask about if it includes any low temperature cutoff as well and will report back here if I hear anything.

I think that's probably a standard corporate disclaimer you will find on a lot of sites to prevent lawsuits over mistakes/misstatements.

Well what about this one, there are more. Bargepole comes to mind.

We do not warrant that the quality of any products, Services, information, or other material purchased or obtained by you will meet your expectations, or that any errors in the Service will be corrected.

Also on the whole site including the terms there is no registered company details, so no legal entity to bring any case against. This is a typical Chinese practise, unknown company with stock in local warehouse that can disappear quickly as the complaints/bad reviews mount and then pop up with a new name and branding.

They responded to me already and attached the below spec sheet. Doesn’t tell me much but sharing in case anyone is interested. The spec sheet is for this company: https://www.sunnewbattery.com/solar.../15kwh-solar-lithium-battery-51-2v-300ah.html

Their response doesn’t inspire confidence about the low temp cutoff specs though:
“Hello,

It seems to have a cut off protection, and I will confirm with the manufacturer about the self heated feature with this batch of the products and will let you know.

thanks,
Mark Yin”

Hey! Thanks for spotting our deal and taking the time to share it here

We're IRICO SOLAR, a Canadian-based company officially registered in the Ontario Business Registry, with multiple warehouses across the country for convenient pickup (as you mentioned—thanks for that!).

Our 15kWh LiFePO4 battery is part of our plug-and-play energy storage lineup, and yes—it comes with a smart BMS and low-temperature cutoff protection, which is super important for Canadian winters
Here are the key operating temperature ranges:
  • Charging: -5°C to 50°C
  • Discharging: -20°C to 55°C
We know we’re still new to the battery scene, which is probably why there’s not much info online yet—but we’re growing fast, and always happy to answer questions or provide more details directly.

Thanks again for the shoutout—and feel free to reach out anytime here or through our site. Always happy to help!

-5C charging ehh? Who's the cell OEM?

You're absolutely right — lithium batteries experience reduced activity in low-temperature environments, and cannot be safely charged below 0°C. We're using the REPT BATTERO CB71173204EB-280A cell, which has been tested to support charging at temperatures between 0°C < T ≤ 55°C and discharging from -30°C ≤ T ≤ 60°C. While the cell supports this wide operating range, our recommended charging temperature range is 0°C to 35°C. Our system is designed to function within an environmental temperature range of -5°C to 50°C. Additionally, the BMS will provide a Charging Warning if the temperature falls below -3°C and activate Charging Protection at temperatures lower than -5°C to prevent potential damage.

I'm confused.
If REPT states 0C why would your BMS allow charging down to -5C?

REPT makes a good cell from what I've seen with the 16 in my bank. It's good to see you're using a known brand.

While the BMS is nominally set to enable low-temperature protection at 0°C, a tolerance is applied in practice due to potential temperature sensing inaccuracies. The actual trigger point is set between -3°C and -5°C to ensure that, even with sensor variance or placement differences, the battery remains within a safe operating range under real-world conditions.

Thanks! Yes, REPT has definitely earned a solid reputation, and it's reassuring to hear your experience with their cells has been positive. We're happy to be using a well-regarded and proven brand—it gives both us and our customers more confidence in long-term performance and reliability.
