Hello All,
Long time lurker but figured I'd throw my information out there incase anyone in my area is searching.
My name is Eric, I am an electrical engineer who has done just about everything with solar PV. I have worked as a solar installer, an install crew lead, a solar service tech, and a solar design engineer. During that time I specialized heavily in battery based systems and have served as a primary off-grid system specialist for several local install companies. I have an Associates degree in Renewable Energy Technology, a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, and am currently pursuing a Masters in Renewable Energy Systems.
Currently my capacity to install is minimal. That being said, I am more than willing to act as your liaison between you and an installer of your choice to make sure you are getting the product you require. I've found over the years that many solar companies don't deal much with off-grid systems and often will take the job without really understanding what the client needs, leading to a system that fails prematurely. I can help you throughout the design process to provide both you and the installer a clear path forward on what you need as a system, and then do a final inspection and review of the system to ensure everything is complete to the proper standards.
I also provide post-install inspections and service as I see there is a wide number of installers who refuse to service their off-grid work. I can help troubleshoot problems you may run into as a system ages and provide repair and guidance.
I work primarily out of the State College/Altoona/Huntingdon areas in Central Pennsylvania, but am willing to do some travel up to 2hrs away.
