Cerbo GX and touch screen question.

Question I have, what do I really need to monitor when I am at the cabin on the wall(cerbo gx, touch screen,etc). What is the difference between the 50 or 70 touchscreen, size only?

Currently I am using the app to monitor the system now but like to at a glance see what is going on besides the app.

Same function. 50 is 5" diagonal; 70 is 7" diagonal. This site shows you pictures relative to a hand when you select each from the drop-down:

Generally speaking the default display is all you need for at-a-glance important info (phone, victronconnect, remote console):

I have several tablets/old phones that I plan to setup as a remote display. This has the benefit of being located however far I want from the unit as it's using the internet connection.

Alternatively, you can use a phone/tablet running victronconnect/remote console connected to the Cerbo via local wifi. This makes your phone/tablet look and behave like a remote touch screen (top image).

Thanks! Will be just using it at the cabin and there will be no wifi when I am gone. So display will be perfect.

You'll need a cerbo or other Venus os device to connect to the touch 50 or 70

The way I read your initial message was that you had a Cerbo. You will definitely need a GX device (Cerbo or RPi running Venus OS) to do anything I described and there's no way to monitor your Xantrex with Victron, so you will basically only get shunt and MPPT data on the display.

On a wish list, if I was to get a new Victron inverter/charger, which would be a good option to have a equal value of what I got now?

Looking to build a cheap Cerbo GX wanna be with RaPi Venus.

Been doing some YouTube deep dives and looking for advice. This is for an off grid set up currently WITHOUT constant network. I’ll be able to hot spot and upload to VRM data logging so real time info isn’t needed, just data logging and display while we’re there.

My current and future victron gear

1 SCC with Ve.direct
1 Smart shunt with Ve.direct
1 Multiplus with Ve.Bus
TBD 1 more SCC Ve.direct

I have two JK 8s BMS and can’t really see any benefits trying to get them to talk to the Venus when I have the smart shunt, I run a...
