Hi guys,

I'm building a 12.8v 105ah eve portable power supply for fishing trips/outdoor activities. I want to charge my drone/phone and some other usb devices so no problem there.

I'm looking to charge a 12v 10ah sealed lead acid battery for a bait boat as well but I know this is quite inefficient to do directly. What would be a good way to charge this lead acid battery with my lifepo4 power supply while in the outdoors? Do I need a dc-dc power supply? Any other ways I'm not thinking of?

Many thanks for your help.

Tecmate/Optimate makes a great little dc-dc charger for just this purpose. Model TM-500. In an orange case.

There are others just as good, and of course one can jury-rig some parts together. This worked for me without creating a rat's-nest of diy wiring.

My big worry was forgetting about it and totally draining the "source" battery - it protects from doing that. Really weird to have TWO sets of battery clips, one on each end. :)
