Charge capacitors with dc power supply?

Is it possible to pre charge the capacitors in an Inverter with a dc power supply?

I don't have any larger resistors on hand, I was wondering if it's possible to hook up a variable voltage dc power supply to my 24v Inverter and dial up the voltage to around 25v to precharge the capacitors.

Or is there a flaw in this idea?

Only potential issue is if your inverter boots up directly into active inverting mode. Some inverters allow this kind of operation but I would not recommend doing it.

On a power supply, and an inverter that activates into inverting mode, once the voltage gets high enough to boot the processor, as soon as inverter activates the power supply may not be able to provide the larger current causing DC input voltage to collapse.
