Bought a battery box from Luyuan after arranging everything with Amy.
Scattered notes:
. Amy is an excellent communicator;
. 45 day shipping deadline from China to Europe was not met ( I think that it took 10 more days)
. Box looks fantastic!!!
. Quality seems top notch
. Customization was perfect (I wrote her what I had (JK, no screen, 8x LF280k cells to use in a 24v setup).
. No assembly instructions ( and yes, I'm a little bit lost with the choice of cable lengths.
. I don't know how trustable is the breaker as I'm not familiar with this brand / specs
. I want to add a T Class fuse, still undecided on best route

I asked the possibility for the Eve 304 and she asked for drawings in order to accommodate them and said she could do it.

If a next time arises, I think that I'll buy everything from her (cells, BMS, box) as recommended by @Steve_S

Regards!

PS: if anyone has pictures of Luyuan 's box assembled in 8S configuration, please point me to them!!

Nice, what was your landed price?

This would probably mimic my next build when/if I add onto my 24v system.

I also wouldn’t trust it as a “breaker”, more of no load disconnect, similar to a blue
seas rotary switch in how I’d use it.

Would be helpful to the thread and searches to say what dollar the amount is and compare "cheap" to? ?? and could you provide a web page link?

I also ordered 3 x 8s 24v boxes + JK BMS from Luyuan, also late to ship. Amy said it would take 2 weeks to customise them. The contract was for 25 days to ship but it took over 46 days after ordering to actually ship! (but they did have a flood in Shenzhen). The ship has now arrived in port last Thursday, so I'm hoping mine'll arrive later this week.

Amy made my boxes slightly larger to fit the Gotion 340Ah cells, which I already have.

Price was £792 DDP to UK. ($967 USD) So £264 per box with JK BMS RS485/CAN connector ETC but also no Screen, I'll be connecting to Victron so don't need it.

I'm using external NH1 disconnectors instead of T class, along with the supplied DC breaker.

Amy has a video for the 16s: https://youtu.be/0TaEwPXxj-c?si=LSWm0kXPwlrlOkQC and there were a few pictures on the Alibaba store for the 8s boxes, but they look pretty simple to put together.

I'll keep an eye on how you get on! @SolaroSsaurius

P.S. was your screen punch out already partially pushed in? Are the battery terminals M6? would a 2/0 AWG (70mm2) lug fit on them!?

That video made me cringe for the lug/ferrule they used for that “breaker”.

You can purchase the battery fully built.

These were prices to my door for buying multiple units.

I'm currently debating on buying one or two, maybe more.

Luyuan couldn't get the larger Gotion 340Ah Cells, which I ended up getting x 24 from Gobel for £2,940 ($3,612) DDP. If I had gone for 280 / 304's I would have considered it though.

So 3 x Battery boxes @ 26kWh total for £3,732 / $4,579 Delivered

Price, DDT DDP (at my door, all duties paid):
$248

Edited: DDT should have been DDP

Price:
248 USD, DDT DDP

Why call it cheap?
Compared to other solutions (EEL, Seplos, ...) it's around half the price

So the box holds 16 cells or 8 cells?

Look like it lists 2P8S. But the OP pictures show an 8s box.

I’d only be looking at an 8s (weight concerns) as it’ll be seasonally traveling from camp to winter in our basement.

Probably 150 lbs as the 16S pre built are 297 lbs.

Not sure the confusion here over 8s or 16s:

"Luyuan DIY Battery Box/Case set/kit for 8S 4S2P 24V"

They will make any size box you want, and have multiple box listings, but that link/Alibaba listing says it's for 8s and has pictures of an 8s, and the OP's is an 8s, it's just in two rows of four which looks like 4s2p, so could be used as a 12v box or 24v box depending how you connect the cells.

This particular battery box holds 8 cells.
I also noticed that they made a mistake in the ad as at least once they refer to 48v and 16 cells setup, but it may have been an editing issue (copy - paste).

As you'll have to write Amy in the chat to customise the box to your needs, all details will be clear.

My current set up is 2P4S with 230ah cells in a diy wooden box but I haven’t installed handles, it’s about the max of what I can move around myself.
