Not an expert but this seemed like the best place for some question that someone could answer with the info I provide hopefully...
I was given a LG Resu 10 with a sunny boy 3.8. I didn't ever install them. Long story short, I opened the battery to see what was inside.
It had:
SIX 24v lithium batteries connected in series.
DC/DC converter I don't use...if anyone one might be interested photo below
One battery was bulging that I set aside....how do I dispose of it??
no one will take it and a battery bag for recycling is really expensive.
I took FOUR of them and made a battery bank by pairing them in series then parallel for 48v and have them connected to a POWMR 5k. they are doing good running all my appliances and last quite sometime after dark even with washer dryer refrigerators etc.
I have ONE in my studio with a 24v inverter and controller doing good.
main questions:
what type of BMS do I get for the 48v battery bank and
what seperate BMS for the individual 24v battery?
I’m not sure how these individual batteries are set up internally with cells.
photos
-individual battery (might give clue to BMS type needed)
-dc/dc converter (used with 6 batteries with BMS in there somewhere)
-battery bank ( 2S2P not sure if that’s correct battery code but two sets of two batteries in series and those two sets in parallel - FOUR 24v batteries series/parallel
