How many people on this forum (outside of those with no power grid access) would have solar if they had to pay Made in the USA prices for it? I personally buy Made in the USA when possible, but there are times I simply can't afford to pay up to four times as much for USA made items, or the items aren't made in the USA anymore.US inverter makers are stuck in the 70s.
They don’t innovate.
If they had an AIO comparable to the 15k I would buy it in a heartbeat but they don’t.
We have got to get manufacturing back here and Tarrifs the imports to match then innovate like we used too.
Without fear that someone is going to steal it and make cheap clones.
This is also an American citizen problem.
Everyone is spoiled with cheap stuff.
That has to change.
Is that not how it is pronounced? That's how I was pronouncing it long before this thread. Like "eye" but with a "d" on the front of it.I keep pronouncing it in my head as "Die"![]()
If Sol-Ark switched to Luxpower, they wouldn't care what Deye did. lolAccording to Gemini AI it seems that Luxpower and EG4 also had a hand in bricking those Deye Inverters

Can someone please point to a link on the Sol-Ark site where it says this?"for the period from November 15, 2024 through December 31, 2024, Sol-Ark will permit each consumer household that has installed a Deye-branded inverter and has had that inverter’s functions disabled by Deye, to purchase a new Sol-Ark inverter of equivalent performance at a substantially discounted price."
It's pronounced Du-YuhIs that not how it is pronounced? That's how I was pronouncing it long before this thread. Like "eye" but with a "d" on the front of it.
No I don'tIt's pronounced Du-Yuh
It seemed to summarize it much better than some people on here, that's for sure.thas kind of scary that it is that up to date.
I thought it was day-ya?It's pronounced Du-Yuh
Please sir, can I have another. That would be a very stupid thing for a customer to do. But there are a lot of stupid people in the world.
"You screwed me, so here's some more money" lol
The only people that spell English worse are the French.I thought it was day-ya?
Nope, it's pronounced "die" as in "I had my inverter die on me."I thought it was day-ya?
I believe Deye makes their mini-splits.James, thanks for taking the time to respond.
1. Please show proof to support your claim that Sol-Ark had direct involvement or any decision-making role in Deye's action.
2. I assume at least some of your products are made in China, so please explain how you know for sure that whoever manufactures your products there hasn't installed a similar "backdoor" kill switch, making them no better than Deye?
Listen to the first 10 Seconds. This is on the Deye official channelNope, it's pronounced "die" as in "I had my inverter die on me."
So the correct way of putting it is like "Today I was Deye'd by Deye and my Deye Deye'd on me."
Source: I own one, I should know.
That’s for the British market and their colonies. In America (f*ck YA!) we pronounce it “die.” And for us is comes with a KILL function.Listen to the first 10 Seconds. This is on the Deye official channel
That's not a real person voicing that video. That's text to speech.Listen to the first 10 Seconds. This is on the Deye official channel
I always thought it simply was "Day". But being Chinese it probably is the anglicized spelling for a sound not much different than a hog being throttled to death. Is that not how it is pronounced? That's how I was pronouncing it long before this thread. Like "eye" but with a "d" on the front of it.
That’s southern Redneck pronunciation.
I was just kidding. I have no idea how it's actually pronounced, it's not a legit word or brand name anyway, no westerner is going to name a company "Deye," so it would be like one of us made up a fake Chinese name to sell in China, which would sound equally inappropriate to Chinese.I have always pronounced it "day-yee".
I own one too, but mine didn't come with pronunciation.
With a Chinese voice over. lolThat’s southern Redneck pronunciation.
