CHINA kills all non Sol-Ark branded DEYE unit in the USA this morning.

They told me to call the reseller, the reseller called Deye, Deye sell told him I need to call SolArk, SolArk will sell me Inverter witch is outside my Specification. No Code. Deye support told me too, it’s a decision from DEYE sells to block the Inverters. DEYE support can help me but Deye sells don’t allow them to give me the Code.
Okay just read your other post.

So did you ask the guy for a refund since he sold it to you and it's not allowed in this Market?
Most people would have no clue that a Deye cannot be connected in NA, so you could play tech dumb and file a complaint with the Police telling them that the guy sold you Grey Market Merchandise that does not work.

BTW according to Sol-Ark they have no codes for the Inverters. Deye is the one with the Codes.
Deye resellers don’t have Costa Rica on a list, it’s not a grey market, you still can buy from Deye directly at the moment, no one will tell you that is not allowed. Only later you have the problem, and only if you connect the unit with the internet.

So who owns the rights to sell in Costa Rica?
Is it Sol-Ark or Deye?

One of the employees told me.
What other proof do you think would be obtainable?
If they came out and said it officially you would still not believe them.
??? I do believe you, but I was confused on who told you.
On of the Sol Ark employees told you this over the phone. Thank you. I was not sure if Sol-Ark or Deye.
If they posted it on social media or on their web site that would also be proof. They did not do that.
If they came out and said it officially I would believe them.

You all realize there are 2100+ posts on this thread, right? There is no 'unroll' feature for the thread or TL;DR. You have to view every one of the 85 pages and 25 posts a page to know what is going on. And now it sounds like there is a second thread or more. So I apologize if I cannot keep up. It is a lot.

SolArk is selling in Costa Rica, has a contract for North America, But for European like me or the people in Costa Rica, Costa Rica is in Central America not North America, but for English speakers Nord America is from Panama to Alaska. You see a lot of things are not really clear. And normally for reseller too, Central America not North America.

My neighbor just signed a contract for twin Sol-Ark inverter and 10 Pytes batteries. The dealer assured him that there is warranty here in Costa Rica for Sol-Ark products. It's hilarious that Sol-Ark seems to pressure Deye to enforce their territory but they have no problem selling outside their territory. I am hoping to get a Lux distributorship here in Costa Rica since I have NO warranty on my EG4 products.

Yep, this thread is pretty much useless.
We have about 2 people in Puerto Rico that have been shutdown and one in the USA and one in Costa Rica.
There may be one or two more that I missed but this is certainly not a regional shutdown or we would have had hundreds of reports and I know for sure this would have made global news if a Chinese company had used a backdoor to turn off the power for hundreds of Americans in PR.

But he just said that Sol-Ark is the Distributor for Costa Rica.
I just looked at their website and they have two distributors in Costa Rica.

This thread is so long, I am getting out of it soon because there are way to many back and forth statements.

I don't know the law in Costa Rica. But my understanding of US consumer law is that, at this point, it's up to the reseller to make it work, repace it with something that does, or take it back and refund (at least) what you paid him. It's on him to chose which and to take it up with Deye if he doesn't want to eat the expense.

For starters it violates the "implied warranty of serviceability and fitness" - by not working for the job it's advertised to do.

I'd think you'd have ground for a suit against the supplier, naming Deye as another defendant. (Deye because it's their action that caused it, improperly, not to work.) But again, that's a guess, based on my understanding of US, not Costa Rica, law.

If those who have had their Deye inverter bricked could list their model and serial number ... it could be helpful.

Eg. If it really was because they were from a stolen batch ... you would expect the numbers to be close perhaps.

Might take nothing more than the serial number and a call to Deye to report it as stolen and brick it. I'd be hesitant posting a Deye serial number in public. Maybe if a moderator here is willing to store them and compare. @Will Prowse

They are not stolen, legally purchased

Deye said if in North America to call Sol-Ark.
That could be because:

1) Deye isn’t going to unbrick it because it’s out of their territory.

2) Sol-Ark isn’t going to unbrick it because they can’t. And they don’t care about your stupid Deye problems, their solution (and the only one they will offer you) is a new Sol-Ark inverter at a ‘significant’ discount.

Your only recourse is to:
- get your money back from your vendor, sell it to someone in a Deye territory, or get what you can at the scrap metal yard
- buy another inverter (from Sol-Ark at a discount or any other vendor you trust for warranty service)

SolArc don’t have the inverters what I need, and sill if I buy a other Inverter from SolArk and can’t use all my equipment I pay maybe $3000 for a bad option, no way

Yes, understood ... and definitely not suggesting the effected owners stole them or had any idea they were stolen. I maybe should have written this in the other thread where the suggestion of them having been stolen was raised.

And that was that they were stolen way back in the supply chain perhaps, maybe from the factory ... and then were eventually bought by people like yourself with no idea they were hot.

Not that I even believe that is a likely theory ... but way dissimilar serial numbers would help dispel that idea.

And yeah cs1234, certainly a moderator or Will could monitor those details and keep them out of the public eye.

Sol-Arks are very similar to Deyes (slightly better IMO). Which Deye do you have? 12k, 8k?
