CHINA kills all non Sol-Ark branded DEYE unit in the USA this morning.

I certainly buy from another supplier, but here SolArk and DEYE have a deal to push SolArk. DEYE first referred me to SolArk via my dealer, they have the code, according to my dealer after asking DEYE. DEYE Service was aware of the active shutdown and according to them SolArk has the codes. Both were involved. I received these statements from DEYE and my dealer.
Is your dealer in Costa Rica? Did your dealer buy directly from Deye or from a distributor in China?

No my dealer is not in CR, he is Chinese Alibaba, but was looking before I bought on DEYE hompage, Deye Manual, did never found Costa Rica or Central America is restricted, two weeks ago after this happened was asking my dealer about the restriction, if he has a list or something from DEYE, got this after one minute, was asking DEYE at the same time until now no answer. Have posted this list here too. What are you believing? my Dealer is right or DEYE? DEYE is growing to fast have no control and are not telling the true, sorry don’t have time I’m on a business trip, was working as Production Manger 30 years no customer ever did get a answer like this, not when I was on vacation on a business trip or was working 20 hours, that’s a absolut no go for me. DEYE is responsible on witch dealer they are selling not me, they need to control this guys or they are thinking this dealer has bought 1000 units for his garden as art? Had the same problem when I got the responsibility in my company , after one week not anymore.

Sol-Ark didn't cause this. Sorry that this happened to you. Your "so called" dealer is just a reseller in China, not a dealer. He is at fault.
DEYE have me now send the code, as firmware it was a US Version installed (Sol ARK, with split phase, not original for this inverter). Now I have installed the EU Firmware and the system is working normally. And it was definitely not the fault from the reseller. ONLY DEYE AND SOLARK!!! Merry Christmas and a good new Year!!!

so you got it fixed , good also for you clients...
lesson learned... order directly from Deye

Are you saying this inverter had different firmware than it was supposed to have? Why would there even be a US version if the inverter is not supposed to be sold in the US?

So its sol-arks fault deye installed the wrong firmware on an inverter you bought from someone other than sol-ark?

But its sol-arks fault somehow?

Errr k.

That you need to ask DEYE not me, this software wasn’t on the inverter when I bought it, I didn’t install it, …..

I'm not sure I understand this. I'm very happy you got your inverter working again, but did Deye send you a code or did they send you a firmware? Or did you have to have a code first, then changed the firmware next? Did Deye tell you to change the firmware, or did they just send you a code and you did the firmware yourself after getting it unbricked?

Did Deye require the serial number of your inverter before they could send you a code?

1. DEYE send me the Code, DEYE needed my SN number, Saw directly something, in the setting split phase was possible ,is wrong and a friend was giving me the Firmware 2 weeks ago and now it was possible do install it.

Sol-Ark cannot catch a break even when they are not involved in something these guys will still try to blame Sol-Ark.

You don't see an issue with the Sol-Ark-specific firmware having gotten bricked?

Given the Costa Rica case recently discussed, if there are two extremes here, they appear to be these: 1) Non-USA-based inverter being bricked for NOT being a Sol-Ark model; and 2) Sol-Ark-firmware being bricked for NOT being USA-based (located).

It seems neither Deye nor Sol-Ark have clear conceptions about the most basic concepts of what geographic region their contract covers, and what specific models should be marketed in which specific regions. Finger-pointing between them gets nowhere, but neither comes out clean.

As I see it, the facts stand regardless of any "blame" motive. The facts seem to justify the position some have taken of placing a part of the responsibility for "brick-gate" on Sol-Ark. Regardless, the whim of neither company is trustworthy enough to risk any expenditure for their equipment on my part at this point.

The sol-ark unit being bricked was proven to be a fake pic.

That's not what I was addressing. I was addressing the unit in Costa Rica that was a Deye unit running on Sol-Ark firmware which was bricked, according to @MarVerde. His was not supposed to be a split-phase unit, but because of the Sol-Ark firmware, he claimed there were settings in it for split-phase. He has since updated the firmware, after successfully unbricking it via Deye's code.

Unless I misunderstood what MarVerde was saying....please correct me if so.

It wasn't Sol-Ark firmware. It was Deye firmware.

Is that how you understand these posts?

It appears to me that he had an incorrect firmware on his device, which is why it was bricked--and that firmware was Sol-Ark's.

There's absolutely no way to have Sol-Ark software on a Deye inverter.
The firmware is probably the same for both.
Deye does sell split-phase inverters, other than through Sol-Ark.

These two sentences appear in stark contradiction to each other.

He has solark firmware installed on a Deye inverter ?

Who did that ?
Based on the foregoing posts it's unclear "who did that," but it appears that someone had installed a firmware that was not original to the unit. Perhaps MarVerde is attempting to implicate Deye for doing this remotely? But for some reason, and I may be confusing this with a separate case, I have the impression that a friend had done this at one point.
