I keep my gynoids offline too. I’m afraid if they connect with the mothership they might brick themselves.I don't even allow my thermostat to leave the hallway!

Just like an inverter, it’s good to have spares.I had to look that word up because I was not sure what it meant.
Or was it a spelling issue?
So here is a Gynoid...

I really wonder how far off that is ?
Within the decade I read it might.
I don't think I would be comfortable with that thing in my houseJust like an inverter, it’s good to have spares.

They’re pretty high maintenance.I had to google gynoids...
You are lucky to have one!
They are designed to be just like the real thing. They’re pretty high maintenance.
I am now able to generate unlock codes and the inverter of @webbbn has been successfully unlocked. It took me quite a few days to figure all of this out, so unfortunately I can't offer them for free. If someone needs an unlock code, the price is 175 USD. You can contact me vial email at deyeunlock@flole de
Your were probably confused like me and thought he had two and was talking about something completely different....I had to google gynoids...

If you look at the license cost of IDA pro (around 7000 USD per year) plus the time involved to understand the firmware and how certain things work, I hope you do understand that something like this can not be done for free, especially if it's just for others and not for an own bricked inverter. If legitimate this is not a bad offer, but not in keeping with the spirit of the forum.
Yes, I can tell you that (and an admin can probably confirm it). If you look up the email domain of the contact email address that I posted, you will probably also find some work on Hoymiles microinverters which are artificially limited by software to provide only the power the manufacturer wants them to provide (Deye is probably doing the same thing judging by the datasheet: All models of a certain series have the same dimensions and weights). Entirely unrelated to this but it might underline the capabilities involved in the process of getting something like this done.First question should be, does that account work from an ip address in Germany
Not related to Deye at all.or one originating at the desk of an enterprising Deye employee?
I am sure he will confirm it once he is back onlineHas @webbbn vouched for this? I don't see a jubilant post from him.
Likely the one that got it fixed for $175Now in Puerto Rico facebooks groups. Have guys selling these codes for $500-600 !!!! And says will take 14-16 hrs. To provide then.
500-600$ is insane and certainly NOT a fair price. PLEASE BE GOOD OUT THERE!
Numerous longtime forum members have helped others out here with their expertise. They patiently gave many hours of their time through the months and years. They have asked for nothing in return. I salute them.I am ambivalent about the ethics of selling codes like this; obviously it takes time, effort and resources to reverse engineer a code generator and it's not fair to say that can't be compensated. But it just seems kinda predatory, taking advantage of people who've already been mistreated by Deye.
I'm not sure there's a correct position on this?
I don't have a Deye, but I'd put in $25 to a gofundme or similar to compensate you for putting it out as an open source app?
Basically the whole business of reverse engineering is built on this, look at printers from a certain company that do not work with ink from 3rd party manufacturers (who then paid to get those ink chips reverse engineered, so in that case the 3rd party ink manufacturers got screwed by the printer manufacturers and they paid well over 100k to get that secret revealed. unfortunately not to meBut it just seems kinda predatory, taking advantage of people who've already been mistreated by Deye.
Probably not, but once a path has been chosen it should be continued IMO. It would be pretty unfair to those who paid some money to now release an app for free. Plus I am sure the resellers would not stop, they would just be happy about 175$ additional profit. It is very difficult to reach those people affected, at least for me. I keep hearing there are many people, but I only saw posts by like 5-10 who are affected.I'm not sure there's a correct position on this?
Looking back at the guy who photoshopped pictures of a bricked solark inverter that would not be a clear proof either IMO. It was only noticed because the original picture was found.Pictures of a bricked inverter with clearly distinguishable marks before and after the fix.
Guess what, the admin of one of those Facebook groups blocked me from the group and wants to do it exclusively. We did one test/proof, and he received the code within minutes. I assume that is the group you are talking about?

So, it's a singular code to restore any Deye bricked inverter? Not based on a serial number.Likely the one that got it fixed for $175![]()
No one has reported that, and JuergenA indicated serial number was required which would mean that is would be a hash to generate the codeSo, it's a singular code to restore any Deye bricked inverter? Not based on a serial number.
