Hey all, been researching myself into a black hole and struggling to come up with the best solution.
CIGS are awesome but i'm only finding the Rich Solar 80w panels that output 4 amps. I was a little discourgaed when I saw they were 20v not 12v.
The perfect scenario would be Renogy's old 160w panels, 2 of them would fit and i'd be happy, but I really don't want to be replacing the panels every year or so.
I'd love all your thoughts!
Here's what we're cooking with.
Off-road rig, roof top tent, pics below with dimensions. Based in Los Angeles in "The Valley" it gets cooking out here.
I've got a Renogy 30AMP DC-DC On-Board Battery Charger with MPPT that can handle Solar input up to: 400W, 30A, and 12-25v. Also a 100ah SOK Battery which handles the 30 amp charge rate.
Below is a photo of my actual rooftop tent with the available dimensions, The 40x50" section would require flexible panels while the 38x24" pocket could hold a rigid panel.
