Why does'nt any armchair seem to have heard of the standard graph for fuse link ratings . The graph shows a LHS 1A ac rated fuse link. Google it.
At 1A it lasts long time? (but at what temp?) At 2A it should blow in ca 700ms +/- 25%
but It could pass as much as 7A or more in 50ms (enough time to initiate a sustained dc arc if there is enough initial energy in the spark (eg if your source voltage and current is high enough and the gap is small enough to maintain a heat ball >2000C to keep the flame ionised. An Ionised gas presents a negative resistance. Doesnt obey Ohms law. Current increases to the limit of what the source and connection can supply . Burn your house down
