thanks everyone for the great system design analysis!
good points about 1) pollen accumulation and 2) climate dependency for humidity, and especially 3) condensation bears no scrubbing action
i’ve used a pair of 300W panels on a slight tilt for a few years, and the patterns that form from the morning dew can be interesting sometimes. they seem to stay clean, but there’s no pollen storms here.
heat pumps are gaining traction, some use air source heat, some ground source heat, some even solar panel source heat!
probably will never try this, but i really appreciate everyone analyzing it and giving great explanations of drawbacks.
