Hi,

I had a read of https://diysolarforum.com/threads/clean-your-terminals.18271/ (I didn't want to resuscitate that ~2 year-old thread, therefore I make this one here) and I'm having some doubts.

In that thread the general recommendation seem to be to be:
- Fine File / Rub with Scotch Brite
- Clean with Isopropyl Alcohol (I guess with a toothbrush)
- Apply some oxidation inhibitor

About the last part, I see no cheap option here in Europe. Far from the "3 USD in your local hardware store" as mentioned in that thread.

The general recommendation from the thread seemed to be:
- Noalox / Ideal 30-031 (~140 USD to Europe, Amazon.com)
- MG Chemicals 847 - 25ml (~ 50 USD to Europe, Digikey.com)
- MG Chemicals 847 - 500g (~ 150 EUR from European supplier)
- Chemtronics CW7100 - 6.5g (~ 80 USD to Europe, Digikey.com)
- Oxguard OX-800 - 8oz - Unsure if this is the correct one (~ 30 USD to Europe, Amazon.com)

What do you guys use here in Europe ?

I never used oxidation inhibitor, just used a super fine grit sand paper (don't remember #) and then wiped it off with Isopropyl Alcohol it's been almost 7 years now and no signs of oxidation. I also wore plastic gloves so not to transfer possible oils (sweat/ moistor) on hands/ fingers to the cleaned surfaces.

Costs about 10€ at off-grid-systems.de
