Hello.

Making progress on my schneider system (details on signature). I setup the BMS through Modbus following the instruction , and it display the battery info correctly. I also assigned it to the correct battery bank. Now, in the xw pro configuration, I selected BMS as the charge cycle and not sure that is enough to have a closed loop with the battery. There is also BMS setup on insight local configuration, and explicitly allow EG4-LifePower4 and LL. I read somewhere the powerpro batteries are based on LL. Can you please let me know if it possible to have a closed loop with EG4 PowerPro WallMount AllWeather battery? Can I select LL as BMS integration? What other steps I have to do?

Thanks

The WallMount batteries are capable of having closed loop communication with the Schneider inverters through RS485.

Thank you for the response. I set the RS485 protocol already, and as shown in the fist image successfully configured the BMS. But, what is the purpose of 'BMS setup", which includes two EG4 battery models. Do I also have to configure the BMS setup in Schnider to have full closed loop communication? thanks.

BMS will allow for State of charge of batteries and any issues or errors that occur with the batteries to be known to the inverter. For the inverter, you would need to set an EG4 protocol. I'm not too familiar with the protocols available with the Schneider inverters.

@bsr I am looking at attempting the same install. Did everything go smoothly with the Schneider and the EG4 powerpro. Also I noticed the BCS/ wattnode uses port RS-485, same as the power pro port. Did this cause any conflict?

Hello. I didn't configure BMS setup, but by setting Charge cycle "external BMS" and SOC enabled, I get warnings when it go above/below the soc threshold, and shutoff charging/discharing. I don't use BCS so not sure how it affect this setup.

Is this the same problem you are having? At the end of the post he gives how he fixed it.

Is this the setup guide you used?
Yes. And also
Like i said, I didn't do BMS setup towards the end of that manual as Power Pro is not listed. I am still not certain how compatible those BMS are as some one mentioned they are 200A BMS compared to server rack batteries (100A). Signature Solar customer support told me I can connect them and they will communicate, and I just ordered 6 LL server batteries. Anyway, without BMS setup, I see schneider handles the SOC high low cutoff, so I left it at that for now. Will be working on it once I get the server rack batteries.

thank you for point me to that thread. I will try it out.

Did you figure out how to get the EG4 Power pro to work with the XW6848? Have you tried uploading 1.17 firmware and selecting “Undefined” as the battery type under BMS Setup?
