Control circuits w/ Transfer Switch

Been looking at Reliance Controls 6 or 10 circuit transfer switch. I want to have control of which circuits run on solar/battery and/or grid. There are a few videos out there, but no technical info. Not sure where in the circuit to install it.

You can find installation manuals for Reliance online, they're pretty common. For each of the circuits you want it to control you pull the "hot" wire from the load center and wire it to to the your circuit choice on the transfer switch output. Then on that same circuit in the transfer switch for the "grid" input you connect a wire to where the original wire came from on the load center. That allows the appliance to get grid or inverter/generator power. Should look something like the diagram to the right, but your setup will probably have it's own quirks. If you're not certain how to do this you can get get an electrician to hook it up for you. If the transfer switch is mounted next to the load center go for hourly rates as it won't take them long to hook up a half-dozen circuits.
