I am making up an off grid solar EV charger. the inverter came with (2) 200 amp CT's for grid tie systems. I want to use them for the energy sharing meter. Is there any polarity situation with the CT clamps? Mine are black and white.

Draw a picture of what you want to do and what you are wiring it with.

Yes there are some polarity and grounding issues with CTs but I need to see how your wiring it up to help.

The situation is: CTs have polarity. If you fit one the wrong way round, it's reading backwards and whatever it is feeding will be give worse-than-useful information.

If the polarity is backwards t he e unit will read power flow in the wrong direction

Select or mark X2 on the CTs
Tie them together and bond to ground

Never open a CT under load or high voltages Dan be induced that damage things

VERY HIGH VOLTAGES!!!!

What you have there looks mighty weird

Why the CTs tied to the line side breaker?

This is three phase but typical of a normal set up
