DALY BMS 8S 24V 200A -- What's the difference?

Can someone explain the what the difference is between this Daly BMS with fan and this Daly BMS with no fan? What am I missing? Why would I choose one over the other? I do plan to put the battery in a box so I have a backup portable power source using a hand cart (like one of Will's videos).

Erm... one has a fan.

The other doesn't have a fan.

The one without a fan implies it's a Smart BMS, but I don't believe it.

BMS generate heat as current flows through them.

BMS generate more heat as they balance cells.

No fan has a big exposed heat sink

Fan has a shrouded heat sink with a fan.

Fan likely performs better, but fan can fail. If fan fails, bad.

Personally, I prefer passive cooling if adequate. I have had many muffin fans let me down in my life. I don't trust them.
